Dennis Dreher, Vice-Chairman
Dennis Dreher is a natural resource engineer whose job duties include planning and designing best management practices (BMP) for conservation development. Prior to his current position, Mr. Dreher was employed by the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission as Director for Natural Resources and Principal Water Resources Engineering. Having participated in numerous planning activities and processes on state, regional and local levels, Mr. Dreher is well acquainted with government’s role and brings to the Commission not only technical skills but also understanding and focus.
In his application, Mr. Dreher stated that his interpersonal style is to “…engage all group members in dialogue and work toward consensus. I have both led group processes and participated [in them].”
On a personal note, Mr. Dreher belongs to the Urban Land Institute, Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management, Boone Creek Watershed Alliance and the Illinois Environmental Council. He currently resides in Bull Valley.
