Nancy Schietzelt

Nancy Schietzelt, the City Clerk in Ames, Iowa during the 1980s and 1990s, believes planning is a proactive process to meet the future needs of all citizens. Her government service background “…provided me with lots of experience working as staff support for [a] Planning and Zoning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.” Ms. Schietzelt likes to participate in group situations, takes an active role and listens carefully to all viewpoints, always working toward consensus.

On a personal note, Ms. Schietzelt lives in Crystal Lake and recently retired from Cary School District 26. She was a seventh grade science teacher for thirteen years.
