***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
( Woodstock, Illinois)—The McHenry County Regional Planning Commission has invited an expert in wastewater treatment and land use implications to speak to the Water Resources Subcommittee. The meeting will be held on May 24th at 6:00pm in Conference Room A of the McHenry County Administration Building located at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock.
Marcia McCutchan, a professional engineer and Executive Vice-President for Rezek, Henry, Meisenheimer and Gende, Inc. in Libertyville, is an expert on wastewater collection and treatment approaches, including such innovative technologies as land reclamation of treated wastewater.
The purpose of this meeting is to collect information on the impacts, benefits, and applicability of alternative treatment technologies – including septic systems, land application of treated wastewater, and conventional wastewater plants. The Subcommittee will begin the process of identifying more sustainable wastewater systems that can better protect threatened surface water quality and groundwater aquifers in McHenry County. This is one of a series of discussions leading to the development of recommendations for the McHenry County 2030 Plan, currently in development. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this discussion.
