(Woodstock, Illinois)—The McHenry County Regional Planning Commission is pleased to host two regional experts on water supply at the Water Resources and Open Space joint subcommittee meeting on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be in Conference Room A of the McHenry County Administration Building located at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock.
Larry Thomas, Vice President of Baxter and Woodman Engineers, is one of the principal authors of the McHenry County Groundwater Resources Management Plan. Mr. Thomas will be discussing existing water supply and groundwater resources in the county, as well as potential problems and threats. Timothy Loftus is a Senior Environmental Planner at the Chicago Metropolitan agency for Planning (CMAP) and is the project manager of the Regional Water Supply Planning Process. Mr. Loftus will provide a regional perspective on water supply sources and issues.
The purpose of this meeting is to collect information on water supply conditions in McHenry County and to discuss future challenges and threats to water supply and groundwater. This is one of a series of discussions leading to the development of recommendations for the McHenry County 2030 Plan, currently in development by the Regional Planning Commission. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this discussion and engage in related subcommittee meetings of the Regional Planning Commission.
